Motorcycle Transport Checklist for Buyers

Buying a motorcycle and need it transported to your location? Whether you're purchasing from a dealership, private seller, auction, or online listing — this checklist ensures everything is in order before pickup day.

Before You Book Transport

Complete the purchase and payment first. Confirm the motorcycle is paid for and ready for release. Verify you have (or will receive) the title and bill of sale. Confirm the exact pickup address and any access requirements (gate codes, business hours, contact person). Know the motorcycle's condition — does it run? Does it roll? Any known issues? Have all this information ready when you submit your transport request.

Dealership Purchase Checklist

If buying from a dealership: Confirm the sale is finalized and the bike is paid in full. Ask the dealer what they need to release the motorcycle to a third-party transport (usually a phone authorization or signed release form). Confirm the dealership's business hours and which department handles vehicle releases. Provide the dealer with our contact information so we can coordinate pickup timing directly.

Private Seller Purchase Checklist

If buying from a private seller: Complete payment before scheduling transport. Get the signed title and bill of sale (or arrange to receive them at pickup). Confirm the seller will be available during the pickup window. Provide the seller's phone number so our driver can coordinate arrival. Ask the seller to have the key available and the motorcycle accessible (not blocked in a garage behind other vehicles).

Auction Purchase Checklist

If buying from an auction (Copart, IAAI, local auction): Confirm the auction's release process and required documentation. Get the lot number and exact pickup location. Confirm auction business hours and any pickup deadlines. Note that auction motorcycles often don't have keys and may not run — communicate this when booking. Some auctions charge storage fees after a certain number of days, so schedule pickup promptly.

Prepare Your Delivery Location

Make sure your delivery address is ready to receive the motorcycle. Clear a space in your garage or driveway where the bike can be safely unloaded. Ensure the delivery area is flat and accessible — our van needs enough room to park and unload safely. If you live in an apartment complex or gated community, provide gate codes and any parking restrictions to your transport company in advance.

Day-of Checklist

On transport day: Keep your phone available for driver communication. Confirm you'll be at the delivery address during the delivery window (or designate someone to receive the motorcycle). Have a plan for where the motorcycle will be parked after delivery. If you want to inspect the motorcycle thoroughly at delivery, set aside 15–20 minutes. You can track your transport status throughout the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be present for delivery?

We strongly recommend being present to inspect the motorcycle and sign off on delivery. If you can't be there, designate a trusted person to receive it on your behalf.

What if the seller cancels or the bike isn't ready?

Contact us as soon as possible. We can reschedule the pickup at no charge if given adequate notice. Communication is key — the sooner we know, the better we can adjust.

Can you hold the motorcycle if I'm not ready for delivery?

We don't offer storage services. Transport is scheduled for pickup and delivery on the same day for local routes. Coordinate your delivery timing when booking.

What documentation should I have ready?

Have your ID available at delivery. If the seller is providing title/paperwork through our driver, confirm that arrangement in advance. We don't handle title transfers — that's between buyer and seller.
